"Introduction to Vital Sign Examination" Programme

Salam.

Attention to all malaysian students of USU, MET will be organizing a practical programme,
"Introduction to Vital Sign Examination". It's open for all students especially to our juniors 07/08 due to the OSCE and also for the need of skills and competent as a doctor to be.

These are the details about the programme :

date : 9th November 2008
time : 8.30 a.m till finish.
venue : Second floor, Physiology lab, USU.

Modules will be given to the participants, we also provide slide shows and medical equipments but don't forget to bring your own stationery and calculator.

Food and beverages will be provided.

Hiking At Sibayak's Mountain report.

On the 6th of October or 6th Syawal, M.E.T in collaboration with BADAR & PKPMI had organized a hiking at Sibayak's Mountain.

Most M.E.T members who didn't go back to Malaysia for raya were involved.






Congratulations to all participants. Its a great journey to reach the peak of Sibayak.

How's Ramadhan for everyone?

On the 7th of September, MET was invited to attend 'Program Amal PKPMI' that was held in Sekolah Al-Fityan, in the Asam Kumbang area.

MET was there giving free medical and dental checkups.

It was a pleasure to be invited by the PKPMI directly and be a part of their programmes.
MET welcomes future collaborations with hopes that it will strengthen ties between the members!

1st of all, even though it's a bit late, M.E.T would like to welcome back all PM USU members to our beloved university, USU, and hope everyone is in the pink of health.

2ndly, we would like to congratulate all new students of USU (2008 batch!) for being selected as medicine students of USU and for bravely put up with the dreaded OSPEK!

Well, back to reporting business. (^^,)

The training session for MSCWP was held on Saturday 26th of July.

after a long discussion with PM USU's president,

the decision on who and who, how and why, of the MET members,

is decided.

with this, we hereby informe u guys that :

THERE WILL BE NO LONGER EXCLUSIVE MET MEMBERS.

MET will now work only as an EXCO under PM USU,

and all PM USU members are welcome to join any MET activities.

However, the MET organization will be maintained.

All activities, announcement, news and other information will be published through this blog as a communication media.

last sunday, the Tim Bantuan Medis FK USU held a seminar entitled :

so some of the MET-ers joined the seminar that includes :

-Basic Life Support
-Initial Management of Musculoskeletal Trauma
-Intubation

the seminar started at 8a.m and finished approximately at 4.30p.m in the afternoon.





Basic Life Support Talk

the seminar officially kicks off *after the TBM-related speeches & narcissism (",)* with the talk on Basic Life Support given by Dr. Guido M. Solihin from the Anaesthesiology & Reanimation Dept. FK USU. It was an energetic talk, dont you guys agree?

After that is the talk on Traumatology given by Dr. Roni Eka Sahputra from Dept. of Orthopaedic & Traumatology FK UI, Jakarta. LIFE before LIMB y'all!!~

Next is a video show on intubation by the TBMers, nicely done. It was awesome of them to produce a professional video like that, right? When will we are able to do something like that? (",)

Then after lunch, comes the most exciting part ever, is the practical part!!~ All of the participants are required to do the CPR (on adult & infant), intubation, bandaging and splinting!

all in all, hope that all the MET peeps benefits from this seminar, and able to do ur own thing when the time comes!!

this program has made history as this is the first TBM-based program attended by the PM USU's MET and with that, hope there will be a MET-TBM collaboration programme someday! :)
